In 1990, Jocko enlisted in the United States Navy. During the Battle of Ramadi, he was commander of SEAL Team Three’s Task Unit Bruiser.
Before earning his commission via OCS he had served eight years as an enlisted Navy SEAL. In 2010 he retired after 20 years of service.
He formed a company (with Leif Babin) called “Echelon Front” that offered experience-based solutions to complex problems based on lessons learned through a myriad of dynamic leadership challenges.
Jocko has published three books. In 2015, he published Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy SEALs Lead and Win together with Leif Babin.
In 2017, he published Way of the Warrior Kid: From Wimpy to Warrior the Navy SEAL Way.
When he was publicizing his book, Jocko appeared on several podcasts. He began to like the idea of podcasting and started his own weekly podcast in 2015 called “The Jocko Podcast” with Echo Charles.
